An affluent community and one of the most educated, Menlo Park lies just north of Atherton. In 1863, when the railroad came through Menlo Park there was no name for the station so they adopted it and called in Menlo Park which is now the oldest California station in continuous operation. The town began to grow around the station and was a popular spot for San Francisco businessmen. Menlo Park is a quaint town with many historical homes. The small downtown creates a tight knit familial sense of community.
Menlo Park has many annual traditions, such as the Easter egg hunt and Arts and Crafts festival. There are several hiking trails such as The Stanford Dish, and Windy Hills. Home to many cyclists, the Alpine and Old La Honda trails are favorites. Menlo Park can truly be enjoyed through its perfect climate where you will often find many staying active outdoors and enjoying the beautiful nature this city has to offer.
